This policy explains what personal information WASHLY collects and why. We handle it in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).
What we collect
Account details: name, phone number, email address and an encrypted password.
Vehicles and bookings: make, model, plate number, chosen services, times, and the location pin you drop for the wash.
Washers: display name, area, profile photo, ID document, and Mobile Money details for payouts.
Live location: while a wash is on the way, arrived or in progress, the washer's location is shared with you. These points are deleted after 24 hours.
Photos: before and after photos a washer adds to a booking.
Messages: in-app chat between customer and washer.
Payments: processed by Paystack. We do not see or store your card number or Mobile Money PIN. We keep payment references and amounts.
How we use it
To run bookings, take and release payments, verify washers, send you updates (in the app, and by SMS or email where available), prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and improve the service. We do not sell your personal information.
Who sees it
A washer sees your name, vehicle, directions and exact location only after accepting your booking. You see the washer's name, photo, rating and live location during the job. Our service providers (Paystack for payments, our hosting provider, and SMS or email delivery) handle data only to provide their service. We may share information when the law requires it.
Cookies and analytics
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. If Google Analytics is switched on, it collects anonymous usage statistics about how the site is used.
How long we keep it
We keep account and booking records while your account is open and for as long as needed for payments, disputes and legal obligations. You can ask us to correct or delete your information.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Contact us on the Help page. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
Security
Passwords are stored encrypted, pages are served over HTTPS, and uploaded photos are stored privately and only shown to the people involved in the booking.
